Major League Baseball<\/a>‘s All-Star Week is upon us, featuring a number of festivities honoring both the present and future of pro baseball. That includes the 2026 MLB Draft<\/a> and the Home Run Derby, but this isn’t just a time for rookies and sluggers. The league’s future stars from the minors will also be celebrated, which brings us to the All-Star Futures Game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Set for July 12 live on NBC<\/strong> and Peacock<\/a>, the Futures Game is an annual celebration of the top minor league prospects in baseball, stars in the making who will soon be called up to the majors to live out their MLB<\/a> dreams. If you want to know who the stars of tomorrow will be on the baseball diamond, it’s the game to watch. Here’s what you need to know ahead of time.<\/p>\n

What is the All-Star Futures Game?<\/p>\n

Founded in 1999, the Futures Game has always been intended as a spotlight of minor league prospects who’ve been working through the farm systems of various Major League clubs, on their way up to The Show. For much of its history, the game was played in a “U.S. vs. The World” format, dividing players up by their birthplace. But since 2019, the focus has been on American League vs. National League<\/a> prospects. Since the AL \u00a0vs. NL format began, the National League leads the series 4-1-1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The All-Star Futures Game is set for seven innings, with no extras, and features 25 players on each team selected from the minor leagues, with each Major League club allowed up to two prospects, depending on the selection committee’s choices in a given year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

How to watch the 2026 All-Star Futures Game?<\/p>\n

The 2026 All-Star Futures Game will begin at Noon ET on Sunday, July 12, live on NBC<\/strong> and Peacock<\/a> from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Melanie Newman will have the play-by-play call for NBC Sports, joined by analysts Yonder Alonso and Sam Dykstra, with reporting from Sande Charles.<\/p>\n

Who’s playing in the 2026 All-Star Futures Game?<\/p>\n

According to Major League Baseball, the 50 players represented at the 2026 All-Star Futures Game include 39 players on the league’s own list of Top 100 prospects, including nine of the Top 10 minor league prospects in baseball.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the National League side, that includes Jesus Made, the top overall prospect in all of baseball right now, who plays shortstop in the Brewers minor league system. Josue de Paula, an outfielder signed with the Dodgers, is back in the game for the second straight year, after taking the Futures Game MVP award in 2025. And high-speed pitcher Seth Hernandez from the Pirates will be on the mound.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The American League, of course, has its own roster of 25 great prospects, including the number two overall prospects in baseball, Leo De Vries of the Athletics, who brings lots of slugging potential to the game. Pitchers Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan, two of the most dominant throwers in Double-A ball right now, will also join the American League roster.\u00a0<\/p>\n
