That’s the latest update, but it’s still an active scene out here. But it seems that they’re in cleanup mode, uh, right now. Right here you can see this MTA bus right here behind me that smashed into the building, uh, where the FedEx shop is. But just within the past 10 minutes, uh, this large MDTA tow truck right over here just arrived and probably within the next hour, I want to say, oh, look at this. Oh wow, look, look, they’re moving the bus back right now. This is all happening live. Here, uh, that truck just arrived here within the past 10 minutes, and it looks like they’re about to tow, um, the MBTA bus out of here right now. Um, further down BGE crews, they’re working on *** power pole, um, that was struck because of all of this, and then *** little bit further down from there where all the cars are, um, we saw *** wrecker pick up some of the cars as well. We’re told about 1 dozen cars were involved in this, but I want to show you all *** different angle of this. Um, take *** look at this footage that we got. From Sky Team 11, Baltimore’s only news helicopter, just shows you just how big the scene is, stretches about *** block or so, and it gives you *** closer look at that bus and the other cars involved and just how widespread the damage is out here. This is right around *** busy shopping center. It happened right around *** rush hour on *** busy road as well, and I want you all to take *** look at the footage that we shot minutes after we got here on the ground. When we got here, fire crews and first responders were rushing. All around the area, not just the bus. I was gonna say just the bus, but they were everywhere. They were all around this area, and we actually heard that crews had to extract the driver out of the bus. I spoke with someone who was in *** building next to the building that the bus crashed into, and she actually heard the crash. Take *** listen to what she had to say. I was getting my nails done in the basement level and we just all of *** sudden heard this huge shaking and booming of the building and at first we just thought maybe some shelving had fallen on the upper floor so the nail tech went up to check and she said there’s *** bus on the side of the building and we’re just like shock and awe because that’s the last thing you expect to hear. The last thing you would expect to hear, she’s right about that. Well, first responders from all over the area, not just Baltimore County, made their way out here. I was told by Baltimore County Fire that they got help from crews in Howard County and An Arundel County. Shock trauma. I was also told, sent their go team out here to help as well. We spoke with the Baltimore County Fire Chief, and he talked about what it’s like for them, uh, when they respond to situations like this when it comes to just trying to rescue people and help people that were injured. Take *** listen. From an emergency responder, it is *** type of scene that is more associated with *** war scene, um, but it is what we’re so happy that everyone’s survived and right now we’re trying to whip out all the personnel, all the first approximately 101st responders on the scene, trying to make sure we get it back to *** sense of normalcy for the community. *** sense of normalcy. Well, we’re gonna have to see how long that takes, but right now, again, we’re in cleanup mode right here. MDTA, their tow truck just came in here within the past 10 minutes. We saw them briefly move that bus. They took it right off of the building, and now they’re in the process of getting it hooked up to that tow truck, and I want to say probably within the next, hm. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour. I’m not really sure, but, um, I’m gonna say they’re probably going to have that bus out of here. But that’s just not all as well, you know, BGE, they’re working on getting that power line or those power lines out of the road, they’re still hanging, and then I’m looking down, it’s hard to see from where we’re at, but you probably saw it in the footage, uh, there’s still *** car that’s overturned. On the road, and I still see *** few more down there as well. So this is really gonna take some time, you know, when it comes to making sure all of this gets cleaned up. And then after that, *** lot of people want to know how did this happen? Of course, police, they’re investigating that, they’re out here. I spoke to the public information officer, um, and that’s really. Really the big question on people’s minds, what led up to this? How did this happen? So, of course, we’re gonna continue to stay on top of this, and we’re gonna have updates online, WBALTV.com and the WBALTV 11 news app. Reporting live out here in Baltimore County, Kyrie Stewart, WBALTV 11 News.
