JACKSONVILLE, Ore. \u2013 This Saturday, downtown Jacksonville will come alive with a full day of live music, historical re-enactments, free trolley rides, artisan vendors, and much more!<\/p>\n
Attendees can enjoy photo-ops with groups like the Belles & Beaus, tours of the historic Beekman Bank and cemetery, a fire department open house, and a local scavenger hunt.<\/p>\n
Santa Claus is even planning to make an appearance to celebrate Christmas in July.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Don Litchfield told NBC5 News the festival is inspired by Jacksonville\u2019s \u201cGold Rush Jubilee\u201d held back in 1932.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey had donkey races, they had gold panning competitions, they had a contest for the best 1850s costumes, they did a parade\u2026 It was just, you know, a celebration of Jacksonville\u2019s gold mine heritage,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
