A Facebook post attributed to Tarrant County Democratic Party Vice Chair Patrice Jones about raising black children around white people drew criticism from local Republicans after it circulated online.<\/p>\n
Jones was selected on May 28 by Tarrant County Democratic Party Chair Allison Campolo to serve as the party\u2019s vice chair, according to the party. The party\u2019s website also lists Jones as vice chair.<\/p>\n
Tarrant County Republican Party Chairman Tim Davis criticized the post in a statement to The Dallas Express.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they tell you who they are and what they think, believe them,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat a shame that an officer of the Democrat Party thinks this way, but there are just too many examples of their bigotry to ignore,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n
Davis contrasted Jones\u2019 comments with what he described as the Tarrant County Republican Party\u2019s approach.<\/p>\n
\u201cTarrant Republicans are a broad coalition of people from all different backgrounds and races, and I\u2019m glad when my children spend time with any of them,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n
