But beyond the animation is a celebration of the rich traditions and heritage of Polynesian culture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">On Houston Life, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonhulaacademy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.houstonhulaacademy.com\/\">Houston Hula Academy<\/a> shares a special Tahitian dance performance while highlighting the history and cultural influences that inspired the beloved story. Alisha Satoafaiga along with her dad Chief Asmoua Tama Satoafaiga discussed what Moana represents to many Polynesian families and how the film has helped spark conversations about cultural identity and representation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Started in 2022, the academy\u2019s mission is to preserve and share Polynesian traditions through dance, music and education, helping connect Houston audiences to the vibrant cultures of the Pacific Islands.
