{"id":928127,"date":"2026-07-11T16:02:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T16:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/928127\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T16:02:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T16:02:15","slug":"violent-wrong-way-crash-shuts-down-i-76-at-belmont-avenue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/928127\/","title":{"rendered":"Violent wrong-way crash shuts down I-76 at Belmont Avenue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 The westbound lanes of I-76 are closed Saturday at Belmont Avenue as investigators try to figure out what led to a violent early morning crash, where a driver was going the wrong way on the Schuylkill Expressway.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Officials said a driver going eastbound on the westbound lanes of I-76 slammed into several cars around 5 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>PennDOT said the crash came at the end of a police chase.<\/p>\n<p>Car parts are scattered across the westbound lanes, and a single car door could be seen leaning against the guard rail.
