(Supplied: Ngurah Rai Immigration Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Indonesian police are investigating and immigration officials say the Australian embassy has been contacted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, extended his deepest condolences to the individual&#8217;s family,&#8221; the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Immigration officials say the man was detained after public complaints were lodged in March relating to an alleged breach of visa conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;Despite numerous opportunities to resolve their immigration status cooperatively, the individual repeatedly failed to comply with official summonses issued by officers,&#8221; the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;On Friday, 10 July 2026, an immigration enforcement team apprehended the individual at their residence in Jimbaran, South Kuta.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Australian man has died in a Bali immigration detention centre while awaiting deportation.
