If you’re driving up from San Antonio to Arlington to see one final game at the FIFA World Cup<\/a>, you’re more than likely going to have to fuel up somewhere along the way. Coming or going, those gas stations are waiting to eat up your money as prices remain abnormally high.<\/p>\n

It’s about a 280-mile drive to go from San Antonio to AT&T Stadium in Arlington<\/a>. That comes out to around five hours of driving, during which you’ll pass through New Braunfels, San Marcos, Austin, Temple and Waco before hitting Dallas-Fort Worth. So, if you’re looking to save a few dollars, here are the most affordable gas stations to use during your journey along I-35.<\/p>\n

If you need to fuel up right after leaving San Antonio, New Braunfels’ cheapest gas is $3.05 at the Costco at 235 Kohlenberg Road, New Braunfels, TX 78130 or the Buc-ee’s at 2760 I-35 N., New Braunfels, TX 78130. If you can wait to fuel up in San Marcos, go to the Valero at 301 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, TX 78666, which has the cheapest gas at $3.29.<\/p>\n

Austin’s cheapest gas stations are both Exxons, offering gas at $2.89 a gallon at 5625 West Gate Blvd., Austin, TX 78745 and 11940 Manchaca Road, Austin, TX 78748.<\/p>\n

If you want to fuel up after escaping Austin’s I-35 traffic, the Killeen-Temple-Belton areas has a few options. The cheapest gas is $3.10 at the Sam’s Club at 1414 Marlandwood Road, Temple, TX 76502. However if you don’t have a Sam’s Club membership your best bets will be the Star Mart at 1903 N. 1st. St., Copperas Cove, TX 76522 or the Chevron at 3200 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen, TX 76542, both offering gas at $3.19 per gallon.<\/p>\n

Up in Waco your cheapest options will be $3.19 at Alon on 2429 W. Waco Drive, Waco, TX 76707 or the CEFCO at 736 N. Valley Mills Drive., Waco, TX 76710.<\/p>\n

You might be tempted\u00a0to stop at the Buc-ee’s in Hillsboro, but it won’t save you any gas money. The Murphy USA, Love’s Travel Stop, Shamrock, Valero and TA Travel Center all charge $3.29 per gallon, the same as Buc-ee’s.<\/p>\n
