In a prepared statement, Berkshire District Attorney Timothy Shugrue called Gonzalez a \u201cpedophile\u201d whose \u201cdespicable\u201d actions caused lifelong harm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis victim and her immediate family had their lives permanently altered by the heinous, violent act at the hands of a pedophile,\u201d Shugrue said in a statement. \u201cAbuse on children impacts them for essentially the entirety of their lives.
