BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WLS) — A sign declaring a stretch of Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview to be “Little Palestine Way” has been installed.<\/p>\n

There has been some controversy around the renaming.<\/p>\n

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24\/7. Click here to watch<\/a><\/p>\n

IDOT had postponed the ceremony<\/a> at the last minute. Some who helped organize the event blamed politics for the delay.<\/p>\n

So, community members decided to take matters into their own hands and went ahead with the renaming.<\/p>\n

A separate sign honors 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume<\/a>. The Muslim boy was killed by his family’s landlord in suburban Plainfield.<\/p>\n
