\n\tJay-Z<\/a>\u2019s third and most hotly anticipated concert at Yankee Stadium on Sunday night<\/a> was plagued by a nearly four-hour delay due to fans rushing the venue\u2019s gates, with Jay finally taking the stage four hours after the concert\u2019s listed start<\/a> time (and around three hours after the previous two nights).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI appreciate your patience. We gonna have a good time. I got some shit for you, I promise you,\u201d Jay said when he finally took the stage after midnight. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere was like ten thousand people outside,\u201d he explained, \u201cand they closed all the doors \u2018cuz [people] rushed the door, and i didn\u2019t want to start music and have people get trampled. I\u2019m really sorry for the inconvenience.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to a report on New York\u2019s ABC7<\/a>, citing an unidentified police source (and multiple social media posts), a large number of fans rushed at least two of the stadium\u2019s gates and got past security without being screened. A full lockdown of the stadium ensued, with fans neither being allowed out of the venue nor inside for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n

\n\tReps for Jay-Z and Live Nation, the concert\u2019s promoter, did not immediately respond to Variety\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tA video making the rounds online appeared to show A$AP Rocky, Charlamagne Tha God and Fabolous waiting to get in, with the caption \u201cWow even celebrities are stuck outside the last Jay Z yankee stadium show tonight \ud83d\ude2d.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSunday\u2019s setback made for an anticlimactic finale to the three-night stand. On the first night, Beyonce joined Jay onstage during the concert\u2019s first song, singing Mary J. Blige\u2019s part on \u201cCan\u2019t Knock the Hustle.\u201d The concert, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album, \u201cReasonable Doubt,\u201d<\/a> also featured guest appearances from their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, as well as Nas and Alicia Keys.<\/p>\n

\n\tNight two, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of his classic \u201cBlueprint\u201d album<\/a>, featured guest spots from Eminem and Pharrell.<\/p>\n

\n\tNight three, however, had an open-ended theme: the tantalizingly titled \u201cExtra Innings.\u201d<\/p>\n
