Police reportedly responded to calls of a woman screaming before prosecutors filed a felony charge against the son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade<\/p>\n
Zaire Wade, the 24-year-old son of NBA icon Dwyane Wade, has been hit with a felony domestic violence charge stemming from an alleged incident involving a woman he was dating.<\/p>\n
According to a felony complaint reviewed by Los Angeles Magazine and filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, prosecutors allege that on or about June 21, 2026, Wade \u201cwillfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition\u201d upon a woman identified in court records only as Jane Doe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The alleged altercation unfolded in Burbank, California, where officers responded at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman screaming, NBC Los Angeles reported, citing police sources. Investigators allegedly found the woman with cuts to her face and body, though she did not require hospitalization.<\/p>\n
The complaint contains just one criminal count but also includes several sentencing allegations that prosecutors could rely upon if Wade is convicted. Those allegations claim the offense involved a high degree of cruelty or violence, that Wade allegedly took advantage of a position of trust and confidence, that the alleged victim was particularly vulnerable, and that his conduct indicated a serious danger to society. These are sentencing factors (not separate criminal charges) and would only become relevant if there is a conviction.<\/p>\n
Court records recommended $50,000 bail (Wade bonded out the day of his arrest) and list July 16, 2026, as Wade\u2019s next scheduled court appearance in a Pasadena courtroom. The investigation was conducted by the Burbank Police Department, and the complaint was filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
If convicted of the felony charge, Wade faces a possible sentence of two, three or four years in California state prison, along with a potential fine of up to $6,000, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
