{"id":933381,"date":"2026-07-14T03:10:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T03:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/933381\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T03:10:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T03:10:15","slug":"night-shift-workers-in-chico-needed-for-csu-health-research-local","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/933381\/","title":{"rendered":"Night shift workers in Chico needed for CSU health research | Local"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CHICO, Calif. \u2014<\/strong> Researchers at California State University, Chico are seeking night shift workers to participate in a study examining how exercise affects cardiovascular and skeletal muscle health.<\/p>\n<p>According to the university, participants must be between 18 and 50 years old and work more than three hours between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. over two days per week. Eligible volunteers must be apparently healthy with no history of cardiac or metabolic disease, weigh over 110 pounds, and not smoke or consume beta-blockers.<\/p>\n<p>The study involves one visit lasting approximately 2.5 hours at Yolo Hall on the Chico State campus. Participants will complete health, physical activity, exercise history, and sleep questionnaires.<\/p>\n<p>Testing includes cardiovascular and metabolic function assessments, maximal cycle exercise testing, handgrip strength testing, and body composition measurements. Blood draws will also be conducted as part of the research.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ryan Perkins, an associate professor in the Exercise Physiology Program, is the principal investigator.
