(WLS) &#8212; Officials with the Fox Lake Fire Protection District said a teenager was out swimming in Myers Bay and never came back up on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The 911 call came in around 6 p.m., and within minutes, first responders from Fox Lake, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Lake County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, and several other neighboring agencies responded.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/watch\/live\/11064984\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24\/7. Click here to watch<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Officials say the initial reports received indicated that boy, around 15 years old, was swimming in the bay off of a boat in the water and never resurfaced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Chopper 7 was over the scene, where various emergency vehicles and boats could be seen, at about 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \"><strong class=\"vtkaO \">SEE ALSO:<\/strong> <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/post\/hammond-crash-round-lake-beach-man-herman-woods-dies-boat-hits-breakwall-michigan-marina-officials-say\/19500402\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Indiana Department of Natural Resources IDs north suburban man who died after Hammond boat crash<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">For about an hour and a half, divers and search teams conducted what they hoped would be a rescue operation before the search shifted to a recovery operation. Divers entered the water several times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A drone was also deployed, but crews later switched over to what they called &#8220;side-scan sonar,&#8221; and that is how they were able to find the teenager nearly two hours after he was reported missing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The teenager&#8217;s identity has not been released.
