She is charged with murder and manslaughter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The superintendent of a Bronx apartment building discovered the boys\u2019 bodies on Nov. 9, 2020, in the building\u2019s courtyard. The Medical Examiner determined the babies died from blunt force trauma. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It was unknown whether Castillo, who was in custody Friday, had an attorney who could comment on her behalf. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The case weighed heavily on New York City police officers, who were still looking for the person responsible for the babies\u2019 deaths when they were <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/new-york-bronx-new-york-city-homicide-8c3818a7590b4e868460a2d7ace2718a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">laid to rest<\/a> nearly a year later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police officers organized a funeral service for the infants, whom they named Zeke and Zane.
