Viktor Gyokeres<\/a> has accepted his fine from Sporting CP in order to complete his \u00a363 million transfer to Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n After weeks of negotiations,\u00a0Arsenal have finally agreed a deal with Sporting for the 27-year-old worth \u20ac63.5m (\u00a354.8m) up front, plus \u20ac10m (\u00a38.6m) in add-ons<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gyokeres travelled to London on Friday and is due to undergo his medical this weekend before finalising his move to the Gunners.<\/p>\n Mikel Arteta<\/a> is hopeful that Gyokeres will be able to link up with his new Arsenal teammates as soon possible with the squad currently in Singapore for their pre-season tour.<\/p>\n Gyokeres went on strike in order to force through his switch to Arsenal<\/a> as he refused to report back for pre-season training with Sporting CP on July 12.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Manchester United every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. <\/p>\n Sporting were angered by Gyokeres\u2019 refusal to return to training as an agreement over the \u20ac10m (\u00a38.6m) add-on payments had not been reached with Arsenal at that point.<\/p>\n \t\t According to Record<\/a>, Sporting president, Frederico Varandas, demanded that Gyokeres forgo his entire salary for July after taking 13 days of unauthorised absence.<\/p>\n Varandas was also angered by Gyokeres\u2019 decision to have another holiday in Mallorca last week while his Sporting teammates were in pre-season training.<\/p>\n Gyokeres has now agreed to give up his salary for July, which is worth \u20ac350,000 (\u00a3306,000), but Sporting have allowed the striker to keep the bonus payments he received for last season, including \u20ac500,000 (\u00a3437,000) for over 50 goals and assists combined.<\/p>\n The Sweden international, who scored 97 goals in 102 appearances in two seasons at Sporting, has now agreed a five-year contract with Arsenal and is set to wear the No.14 shirt for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n When asked directly about Gyokeres\u2019 move to Arsenal, Arteta said on Friday: \u2018You know I cannot talk about a player who is not ours yet. <\/p>\n \u2018Whatever happens in the next few hours I\u2019m sure the club will make a statement about it.\u2019<\/p>\n For more stories like this,\u00a0check our sport page<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on \t\t\tComments Arrow Arrow Arrow \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t![\"Goal](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2216554974.jpg\")
