They also earned acclaimed for their mouthwatering sandwiches made with the freshest of ingredients, even garnering a coveted nomination for Best Sandwich in the 2026 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards.

Misner says the Fort Worth shop isn’t going anywhere.

“Opening a second location was a natural next step for our growth,” Misner says. “While Fort Worth is home to The Sour Boule, Aledo is home for our family, so it felt like the right place for our next chapter.”

The new location will offer a similar menu to the Fort Worth original, Misner says, but with a focus on lunch and dinner items instead of just breakfast and lunch service.

Patrons can expect The Sour Boule’s signature sourdough sandwiches layered with house-marinated and brined lunch meats along with salads, desserts, “brunch-ish” items, and coffee – as indicated by The Sour Boule’s job posting for a barista.

Popular sandwiches include the Sour Boule, layered with oven-roasted chicken, American cheese, tomatoes, and house-made pickle slaw, and The One with Cranberry, made with turkey, sprouts, cranberry, and cream cheese.

“While both locations will share the same commitment to scratch-made food, long-fermented sourdough, and community, the new location will have its own personality,” says Misner. “We’ve had customers from Parker County and the surrounding areas making the drive to Fort Worth for years, and we’ve always loved being part of both communities.”

The new location sits in the Willow Bend Professional Building complex in Aledo. Early peeks reveal a handful of four-top tables on hardwood floors with lots of natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Ahead of its opening, The Sour Boule is offering limited edition VIP tote bags ($125) that include a $100 Sour Boule gift card, six-pack of house-made cookies, one sourdough loaf, and one jar of house-made jam. A limited number of the VIP bags are available for pick-up (scheduled in advance) at the new location.

“One thing we’ve said from the beginning is that we never wanted to become a chain – we wanted to become part of another community,” says Misner. “This expansion is about serving two communities that have supported us and continuing to grow in a way that feels authentic to who we are.”

A Fort Worth favorite for sourdough bread and artisan sandwiches is expanding west.
