Less than two years after opening, an upscale Southwestern-inspired restaurant in Central Texas has\u00a0shut its doors<\/a>. Teddy’s has quietly closed on\u00a0West 38th Street in downtown Austin.<\/p>\n

Austin is also losing a beloved winery’s only tasting room<\/a> at the end of July. Before Teddy’s closure, it was located near the original Kerbey Lane Cafe and served the city’s Bryker Woods and Rosedale neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Austin Business Journal first reported<\/a> that the restaurant and bar closed on July 8, noting that its owners had seen success in its other concepts recently. Teddy’s, which debuted in 2024, was one of three downtown restaurants under the\u00a0Berg & Sons Hospitality group,<\/a> including its flagship seafood spot Bill’s Oyster and New York-Style steak house Van Horn’s.<\/p>\n

The popular Austin-based hospitality group is\u00a0led by founder Daniel Berg<\/a>, whose culinary career spans to Michelin-starred restaurants in New York, and managing partner Dylan Salisbury, who has opened more than a dozen restaurants and Austin-based Tiki Tatsu-Ya before Bill’s and Teddy’s.\u00a0<\/p>\n
