OCEARCH \/ SWNS<\/p>\n<p>Contender\u2019s GPS tracking device, attached to its fin, last pinged on Friday after the behemoth beast had disappeared into the ocean\u2019s depths for several months since the Outer Banks sighting in April. <\/p>\n<p>The Friday glimpse of the great white, however, was only a partial ping and not strong enough to generate an exact location, according to the conservation group. <\/p>\n<p>Still, the shark experts have a good idea of where Contender is likely heading. <\/p>\n<p>Contender, the 14-foot great white shark, is believed to be heading north. OCEARCH \/ SWNS<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhite sharks in the western North Atlantic typically migrate north and spend the summer and early fall foraging in the waters of Cape Cod or Atlantic Canada,\u201d a spokesperson for OCEARCH<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/news\/16689735\/biggest-atlantic-shark-ever-resurfaces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> told the Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese two regions offer comfortable water temperatures and an abundant food supply, in particular abundant seals and large fish species.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contender\u2019s GPS tracking device, attached to its fin, last pinged on Friday after the behemoth beast had disappeared into the ocean\u2019s depths for several months.
