DC Studios had the film earlier set for a release date on Oct. 3, 2025, which had to be moved in the wake of the 2023 writers and actors strikes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWarner Bros. is now putting The Batman Part II in the same corridor as 2022\u2019s\u00a0The Batman, which nabbed the second best opening of the pandemic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/the-batman-box-office-opening-1235104983\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with $134 million domestically,<\/a>\u00a0on its way to a global haul of $770.3 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Batman Part II move was part of a larger shuffle. The other big one was<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-great-beyond\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-great-beyond_1\" data-tag=\"the-great-beyond\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Great Beyond<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jj-abrams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jj-abrams_1\" data-tag=\"jj-abrams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">J.J. Abrams<\/a> sci-fi fantasy starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, moving from a previously scheduled Nov. 13, 2026 release to open in theaters\u00a0on Oct. 1, 2027\u00a0in Imax and with a two-week Imax 70mm run thrown in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Great Beyond\u00a0will fill the date previously held by\u00a0The Batman Part II as Abrams marks his first directorial effort since 2019\u2019s The Rise of Skywalker. Panic Carefully, described as a paranoid thriller reminiscent of\u00a0Silence of the Lambs, stars Elizabeth Olsen,\u00a0Julia Roberts, Eddie Redmayne, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Chaplin, Aidan Gillen, Joe Alwyn and Naledi Murray.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOther calendar date changes at Warner Bros. includes Sam Esmail\u2019s\u00a0Panic Carefully,\u00a0previously slated for a Feb. 26, 2027 release now delayed to an\u00a0April 9, 2027\u00a0rollout in Imax. Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 and New Line Cinema\u2019s\u00a0Revenge of La Llorona\u00a0will now open theatrically on Feb. 26, 2027 after being previously slated for a April 9, 2027 release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Batman Part II, directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/matt-reeves\/\" id=\"auto-tag_matt-reeves_1\" data-tag=\"matt-reeves\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Reeves<\/a> and starring Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and Scarlett Johansson, will now get more time in post-production, according to Warner Bros., and a new release window that allows the film a domestic four-day weekend.
