At its July 13 meeting, officials swore in their new fire chief, Aaron Rosenfield.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career history<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rosenfield previously served as interim chief after James Novak retired from the role in June. Since joining the department in 2017, he has served the city as a firefighter, paramedic, lieutenant and assistant chief fire marshal. He has over 16 years of experience in the fire service and nine years with West U.<\/p>\n<p>About six months before <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/bellaire-meyerland-west-university\/government\/west-u-fire-chief-to-retire-interim-chief-to-take-over\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Novak officially retired,<\/a> Rosenfield took on additional responsibilities in an effort to train for his new position, City Manager David Beach said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"West University Place has a new fire chief.
