The sky is pale blue and sunny.\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dvfjxj\"\/>Tate Photography<\/p>\n<p>The extended evening hours primarily aim to attract more young visitors<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The Tate Modern has announced it will extend its weekend opening hours in the autumn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">From 26 September, the London art gallery will open until 21:00 BST on Friday and Saturday evenings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The move is intended to give more visitors the chance to visit the gallery after work, particularly young people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The move follows the success of the Tate Modern Lates, a series of curated evening events which have welcomed over 750,000 people since 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The Tate Modern normally opens at 10:00 and closes at 18:00 every day, and is free to enter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Karin Hindsbo, director of the Tate Modern, said: &#8220;Over the last decade, Tate Modern Lates have become a cornerstone of London&#8217;s nightlife, especially among young Londoners who want to make the most of their city&#8217;s dynamic cultural scene.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">She said opening until late would make the gallery &#8220;even more accessible&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The mayor of London said the move would help to cement London as the &#8220;cultural capital of the world, with the best nightlife anywhere&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1752665411_201_grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dkIvM hide-when-no-script\" aria-label=\"image unavailable\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/615e2ed0-695e-11f0-8dbd-f3d32ebd3327.jpg.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"A picture of Little Simz from the mid-chest upwards.
