Jimmy Hart\u2019s still in shock at the death of his friend, Hulk Hogan. <\/p>\n

The transformative and controversial WWE legend Hogan died Thursday at the age of 71<\/a> at his home in Clearwater, Florida.<\/p>\n

Not long before Hogan\u2019s passing, Hart \u2014 a longtime manager and close friend \u2014 had publicly insisted the WWE Hall of Famer was doing better than had been reported. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was great,\u201d The \u201cMouth of the South\u201d told People <\/a>on Friday about seeing Hogan for the final time about a month ago. \u201cHe had great food to eat that night. He was talking with the fans. He was just phenomenal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hart revealed his shock when he learned of the wrestling icon\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called [Hogan] on Wednesday night, and then Thursday morning is when everything took place,\u201d Hart said Friday. \u201cSo just\u2026just overnight it all happened, but it was so positive the day before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hart added that when he called Hogan this week, he didn\u2019t get to speak to him. <\/p>\n

Instead, he spoke with Hogan\u2019s assistant, who merely sent a message saying that the former six-time WWE Champion was \u201cdoing great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, tell him I love him,\u201d Hart said he told Hogan\u2019s assistant. <\/p>\n

He indicated that he felt encouraged by the response, thinking \u201cthis is great\u201d news, People reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just hits so fast,\u201d Hart said about his reaction upon learning of Hogan\u2019s death. \u201cIt was like, \u2018Oh my God.\u2019 We thought he was doing so well, you know? We didn\u2019t go to see him at the house and didn\u2019t go to see him at the hospital, because we wanted to make sure that he didn\u2019t get any infections or anything else, like if anybody had a cold or brought anything in. So, that\u2019s what we all did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hart had a decades-long friendship with Hogan, going back to their early Memphis days through WWE and later WCW and TNA.<\/p>\n

Hogan, a 12-time world champion \u2014 six in the WWE and six in WCE \u2014 was a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, being inducted in 2005 as an individual and in 2020 as a member of the New World Order.<\/p>\n

Hart was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestling managers of all time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jimmy Hart\u2019s still in shock at the death of his friend, Hulk Hogan.
