After more than two weeks touring the Mandurah estuary, \u201cGale the whale\u201d has returned to the ocean.<\/p>\n

The southern right whale was first spotted in the Dawesville Cut accompanied by a pod of dolphins.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s common to see whales navigate the Cut, experts believe Gale might be the first to swim further into the Peel Harvey Estuary.<\/p>\n

While its presence delighted residents, Parks and Wildlife Service marine rangers and DBCA scientists closely monitored its health and movements throughout the visit.<\/p>\n

There were some concerns that Gale, a recently weaned juvenile, might be injured during her time within the popular waterways.<\/p>\n

Despite this, experts monitoring the situation assured locals the whale would eventually find its way out.<\/p>\n

After enjoying a 19-day stay in Mandurah, Gale decided it was time to go home to the ocean.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Callum Craig, who has been monitoring the whale, captured footage of the cetacean being guided by a pod of dolphins back out to sea via the Cut.<\/p>\n

It is peak migrating and calving season along the WA coastline for southern right whales.<\/p>\n
