The Elder Scrolls VI is our primary development focus today, with the majority of our team currently working on the next chapter of the franchise. With over 65 million copies sold, players are still exploring Skyrim 15 years later, but we know it\u2019s been a very long wait for the sequel. The next chapter is on the way. We\u2019re where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHoward also confirmed that, while \u201cFallout 5\u201d \u201cremains our long-range destination,\u201d Bethesda Game Studios currently has \u201cmultiple Fallout projects in active development right now.\u201d This includes a \u201ca new Fallout project\u201d that Bethesda is working on in partnership with Xbox\u2019s Obsidian Entertainment, which was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-08\/microsoft-s-xbox-to-shift-obsidian-studio-to-new-fallout-video-game?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=author_alert&amp;utm_term=260708&amp;utm_campaign=author_21752369\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-08\/microsoft-s-xbox-to-shift-obsidian-studio-to-new-fallout-video-game?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=author_alert&amp;utm_term=260708&amp;utm_campaign=author_21752369\" target=\"_blank\">first reported by Bloomberg last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBethesda and Obsidian were among the many Xbox-owned studios impacted by the recent cuts implemented across Microsoft\u2019s gaming division, though the total number of employees impacted at each studio remains unconfirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tXbox\u00a0is set to reduce its workforce by up to 3,200 employees \u2014 or 20% of total staff \u2014 over the next year in what new CEO\u00a0Asha Sharma\u00a0calls the \u201cmost significant restructure\u201d in the\u00a0Microsoft-owned company\u2019s history.
