That may include rainfall of up to nearly an inch.<\/p>\n<p>Wet conditions are expected to give way to <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=40.8308463&amp;lon=-74.0988533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">sunny skies<\/a> over MetLife Stadium Sunday. But forecasts indicate poor air quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/story\/_\/id\/49384171\/no-concerns-world-cup-final-air-quality-issues-sources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">shouldn\u2019t be an issue<\/a> when the World Cup tournament finally reaches its climax, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/07\/13\/mamdani-trump-attend-world-cup-2026-final-at-new-york-new-jersey-metlife-stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">President Trump and Mayor Mamdani<\/a> in the stands.<\/p>\n<p>The Weather Channel says New Yorkers can expect Monday\u2019s weather to look a lot like a lot like Sunday\u2019s conditions, but under partially cloudy skies. Thunderstorms could return Tuesday night and roll into Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>That would be a welcomed change over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/07\/16\/nyc-air-quality-dangerous-mamdani-urgers-stay-home-mask\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the past few days<\/a> in New York City. The city fell under a dangerous, code red air quality alert Thursday due to smoke from Canadian wildfires drifting southeast from Ontario. Those looking to kick a ball around or do anything at all have been forced indoors thanks to an unfriendly yellow and orange haze that\u2019s coated the skies.<\/p>\n<p>Accuweather says Spanish soccer fans watching their team play in Madrid will be dealing with <a href=\"http:\/\/accuweather.com\/en\/es\/madrid\/308526\/weather-forecast\/308526\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nearly 100 degree weather<\/a> on Sunday.
