The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2024\/05\/24\/what-is-heat-index-and-why-does-it-matter-in-dallas-fort-worth-as-summer-approaches\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">heat index<\/a>, or \u201cfeels like\u201d temperature, could hit 101.<\/p>\n<p>Lingering cloud coverage from the storm system is expected to prevent temperatures from becoming extreme over the weekend, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Moderate humidity and a slight breeze with wind gusts up to 18 miles per hour\u00a0will accompany Saturday\u2019s warmer weather and continue through the rest of the forecast period.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, temperatures are expected to climb to 98 degrees, with a heat index of 104.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Triple-digit heat is expected to return to the region as soon as Monday, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, work week temperatures could rise enough to warrant a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/07\/24\/whats-the-criteria-for-heat-advisories-and-extreme-heat-warnings-in-north-texas\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> heat advisory<\/a> with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday\u2019s heat indexes are all currently predicted to exceed 105.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In extreme heat, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/article\/summer-2026-full-swing-see-deal-d-fw-s-extreme-22338966.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the CDC recommends<\/a> drinking water, seeking shade when possible, applying sunscreen, wearing a hat and knowing the symptoms of dehydration and heat exhaustion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUNDAY:<\/strong> Mostly sunny and hot.
