NORTH PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Today, dozens gathered in North Philadelphia to prepare for parenthood.<\/p>\n

Moms and dads who are expecting newborns were invited to receive resources and exchange information.<\/p>\n

This was hosted on Temple University’s<\/a> campus with State Senator Sharif Street.<\/p>\n

“We’re doing it in a place where the disparities in maternal health are greatest. Infant mortality and maternal mortality for black and brown women is very high. This area has some of the highest levels. So we’re trying to address those disparities, but we welcome everyone to try and make sure that people who need the help can get it.” said State Senator Sharif Street.<\/p>\n

“No cost at all… here. This is something we’re doing…as a public service because we want to give resources to people,” he continued.<\/p>\n

Members of Temple OB\/GYN<\/a> joined to educate guests about their services.<\/p>\n
