(Image credit: NASA)<\/p>\n<p>As planned, the Falcon 9&#8217;s first stage separated from the upper stage at about 2 minutes into the ascent and then performed a propulsive return to Earth, firing one of its engines to land on &#8220;<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-drone-ship-a-shortfall-of-gravitas\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-drone-ship-a-shortfall-of-gravitas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A Shortfall of Gravitas<\/a>,&#8221; an autonomous droneship stationed in the Atlantis Ocean. The booster (B1078) completed its 22nd flight.<\/p>\n<p>The launch came two days after the Starlink network experienced a 2.5-hour outage, affecting customers across the globe. The problem was traced back to a &#8220;failure of key internal software services that operate the core network,&#8221; according to an <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/michaelnicollsx\/status\/1948509258024452488\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/michaelnicollsx\/status\/1948509258024452488\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow\">update posted<\/a> to the Starlink account on the X social media network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Breaking space news, the latest updates on rocket launches, skywatching events and more!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The network issue has been resolved, and Starlink service has been restored. We understand how important connectivity is and apologize for the disruption,&#8221; SpaceX officials wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s launch raised the total of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/planet4589.org\/space\/con\/star\/stats.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/planet4589.org\/space\/con\/star\/stats.html\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">active Starlink satellites in orbit<\/a> past 8,000.
