Rest in power our dear friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe statement was signed, \u201cWith Love, L7.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFinch\u2019s death comes shortly after L7 shared that she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and would be unable to join the band\u2019s upcoming farewell tour. The band said at the time that she required extensive medical care, rehabilitation and professional in-home support following multiple surgeries and serious complications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFinch was a core member of L7\u2019s classic lineup, anchoring the band\u2019s guitar-heavy attack with a bass style that was blunt, melodic and built for maximum impact. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlongside Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner and Dee Plakas, she helped define L7\u2019s place at the intersection of punk, metal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/t\/grunge\/\" id=\"auto-tag_grunge\" data-tag=\"grunge\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">grunge<\/a> and alternative rock, where the band\u2019s distortion-heavy songs carried sharp humor and political bite.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFormed in Los Angeles in 1985, L7 broke through during the alternative boom of the early \u201990s, becoming known for songs including \u201cPretend We\u2019re Dead,\u201d \u201cShove,\u201d \u201cAndres\u201d and \u201cFuel My Fire.\u201d Their 1992 album, Bricks Are Heavy, produced by Butch Vig, became a cornerstone release for the band, pairing sludgy riffs and shout-along hooks with a restless, anti-gloss spirit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFinch\u2019s work with L7 was part of a broader creative life that extended beyond the stage.
