A 7-year-old Wyoming girl who was left with no guests at her birthday party after every invited friend canceled got an unexpected surprise when strangers rushed in to celebrate instead.<\/p>\n
Chloe Blanden was sitting with her family at a pizzeria in Cody, Wyo., surrounded by decorations and a birthday cake \u2014 but no party guests \u2014 last weekend when her mom, Melanie O\u2019Donnell, made a desperate plea for help in a local Facebook group.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe hasn\u2019t made a lot of friends yet, and I so badly wanted her to have a great day,\u201d O\u2019Donnell told Cowboy State Daily.<\/a><\/p>\n Chloe Blanden, 7, celebrates her birthday in Cody, Wyoming, after her mom\u2019s Facebook plea brought strangers to a pizzeria when every guest canceled. Even after the change in plans, every invited guest backed out.<\/p>\n \u201cOur decorations were out, I\u2019d bought this big cake, and we were all sitting in the downstairs arcade center by ourselves,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said.<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell, whose family moved to Cody earlier this year, asked local parents if anyone with children could stop by the party.<\/p>\n More than 150 people responded to the Facebook post within minutes and about 15 families showed up at the pizzeria with gifts for Chloe.<\/p>\n Chloe has developmental challenges that have made it difficult for her to make friends, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n Chloe, center, and her family moved to Cody earlier this year, but she has struggled to make friends. Facebook\/Melanie O\u2019Donnell<\/p>\n \u201cThe people who showed up were complete strangers, but they all acted as if they had always known each other,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe children were so sweet and well behaved. Chloe had an amazing time.\u201d<\/p>\n She also said a man in Montana sent $25 through Venmo so Chloe could receive another birthday gift.<\/p>\n The family relocated to Cody after the deaths of O\u2019Donnell\u2019s mother and grandmother.<\/p>\n Chloe\u2019s mom marked her daughter\u2019s birthday with a Facebook tribute to late loved ones.
