Dave Portnoy called out Tom Brady for being \u201ccringey\u201d and \u201clame\u201d in a scathing \u201cWake Up Barstool\u201d rant<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Barstool Sports creator told listeners on Monday that \u201cwhat is happening with Tom Brady post-retirement is one of the great downfalls of an icon.\u201d<\/p>\n

He specifically mentioned the ex-NFL player, 48, recently \u201cchopping it up with Logan Paul<\/a>,\u201d referencing Brady\u2019s staged feud with the WWE wrestler at Michael Rubin\u2019s Fanatics Fest<\/a> in New York City.<\/p>\n

During Monday\u2019s \u201cWake Up Barstool,\u201d Portnoy blasted Brady\u2019s Fanatics Fest 2026 appearance over the weekend \u2014 including his staged feud with Logan Paul. Getty Images for Fanatics<\/p>\n

Not only did Brady make headlines for slapping<\/a> the 31-year-old onstage at the Javits Center, but he also gave Paul the bird in a video from the FIFA World Cup Final 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201c[This is] a legacy that is being lame-ified,\u201d Portnoy said of the viral moments. \u201cYou don\u2019t want to see him mixed up in lowbrow TikTok flag football leagues in Saudi Arabia or whatever it is. Everything about him is cringey right now to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He agreed with Brandon Walker likening Brady to Haliey Welch, the \u201cHawk Tuah\u201d girl who went viral<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n

Portnoy dubbed Brady\u2019s legacy \u201ccringey\u201d and \u201clame-ified.\u201d Instagram\/wakeupbarstool<\/p>\n

Walker explained, \u201cHe has become somebody who looks like he is trying to get to a spotlight, trying to get attention \u2026 and Tom Brady shouldn\u2019t have to do things designed for your entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy specifically hit out at Brady\u2019s pal Michael Rubin, alleging that the Fanatics CEO can \u201clame-ify the coolest guys in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting that the former quarterback is the same \u201clevel star\u201d as Michael Jordan, Lionel Messi, Wayne Gretzky and David Beckham, Portnoy insisted Brady \u201cshould be above the fray \u2014 not Michael Rubin\u2019s puppet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy, similarly, tweeted on Sunday<\/a>, \u201cCan somebody please shake Tom Brady and tell him to get as far away from Michael Rubin as possible and stop lame-ifying his entire legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also wrote that he is \u201cglad\u201d he doesn\u2019t have to \u201cpretend this isn\u2019t lame\u201d since Brady has distanced himself from the New England Patriots, a team Portnoy is a diehard fan of.<\/p>\n

Brady\u2019s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

The athlete, who played for the NFL<\/a> between 2000 and 2022, posted about his weekend antics<\/a> at Fanatics Fest via Instagram.<\/p>\n

Brady also shared a Rubin-filled slideshow<\/a> documenting his time at the FIFA World Cup 2026<\/a>, which he dubbed \u201cone of the greatest month long sporting events.\u201d<\/p>\n

The seven-time Super Bowl winner gushed, \u201cTo everyone who made this month what it was, friends, family, and the athletes from around the world who stepped in the arena\u2026 these are the memories we\u2019ll be talking about for the rest of our lives and I\u2019m glad I made them with you.\u201d<\/p>\n
