He is a defensive wing player that the Lakers sought to surround <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/newsletter\/2026-05-19\/luka-doncic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luka Doncic<\/a> and <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/lakers\/story\/2026-04-04\/lakers-austin-reaves-out-for-rest-regular-season-oblique-strain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Austin Reaves<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thybulle averaged 5.8 points per game last season and shot 43.3 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from three-point range, in 30 games.<\/p>\n<p>The Lakers now have a 16-man roster.
