But that&#8217;s not necessarily a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>Mental health experts say it&#8217;s actually the perfect time to refocus and reset your mental health.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re not talking about overhauling your life, just some simple small changes that research says can make a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>Clinical Psychologist Dr. Susan Albers with Cleveland Clinic says small shifts can lead to healthier habits, like eating fresh foods, especially those that are in season right now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can be as simple as taking a walk outside, starting a new hobby, making a phone call to a friend,\u201d Dr. Albers says.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Albers says getting outside can boost our mood and lower blood pressure and exercise releases feel good hormones.<\/p>\n<p>She also suggests trying something new this summer.<\/p>\n<p>And invite a friend since social connections are critical for mental health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur brains love novelty. It helps us to stay curious, engaged, and alert. It&#8217;s a great time to visit a new museum, take a drive somewhere you&#8217;ve never been,\u201d Dr. Albers says.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Albers says to stay present by unplugging, taking a break from social media and having fun with outdoor activities that don&#8217;t involve a screen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Since it&#8217;s summer, you may be really off schedule.
