Surprise-released independently in late April, Clovis vanished from streaming days later amid a legal dispute with his former label, Island Records. He responded by distributing free CDs to fans before re-releasing the album on digital platforms July 3 in partnership with Atlantic Outpost.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not Crockett\u2019s only recent controversy. He dropped the self-described \u201csatanic doo-wop\u201d duo Twin Temple from two West Coast opening slots after objecting to its demonic imagery. \u201cI thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain\u2019t,\u201d he said in a statement earlier this month. \u201cNot today, Satan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The episode may have been more theater than feud.
