Robbins, a teen star who became a powerful family content executive at Nickelodeon, helped boost the volume of original film production and acquisitions at Paramount \u2013 a studio that had become known over the past two decades for minimal output compared to its rivals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe fruits of Team Robbins will continue to manifest in a busy Q4. Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson\u2019s \u201cThe Naked Gun\u201d reboot, written and directed by The Lonely Island mastermind Akiva Schaffer, hits theaters next week. All Rights Reserved.\u201d<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPhilippe Boss\u00e9<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThere\u2019s more IP on deck for 2026, including: \u201cScream 7,\u201d a highly anticipated return to the slasher canon produced with Spyglass Media Group, in February; an original swing with an untitled feature from Trey Parker, Matt Stone, rapper Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free for March; a revival of the surprisingly sticky spoof series \u201cScary Movie\u201d for June; and a new feature in Robbins\u2019 pride-and-joy Paw Patrol franchise for July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tStudio insiders are expecting an impressive performance from \u201cThe Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender,\u201d an animated actioner featuring the voices of Dave Bautista and Steven Yeun; and equal excitement for new films based on Sonic the Hedgehog, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Angry Birds mobile game and another sequel in the \u201cMeet the Parents\u201d universe with Ben Stiller and Ariana Grande. At the top of 2027, Paramount will court awards with \u2018Children of Blood and Bone,\u201d Gina Prince-Bythewood\u2019s fantasy epic featuring Cynthia Erivo, Idris Elba and Viola Davis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tParamount is in early development for two of its most lucrative film franchises \u2013 the worlds of Transformers and Star Trek. It\u2019s unclear if \u201cMission: Impossible\u201d is on deck for a reboot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>Television<\/strong><br \/>Ellison has previously said that high on his list for the merged Skydance-Paramount was a tech revolution inside the company \u2013 including its streaming operations, interface and content model. Paramount Global\u2019s hit shows are spread wide across verticals like linear networks and streaming. Breaking it down by brand: \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>CBS<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>The stalwart network, a lightning rod in the Skydance Paramount deal for several reasons, has plenty going for it despite the overall decline of linear TV viewership. Flagship shows with spinoffs like \u201cNCIS\u201d and \u201cFBI\u201d still resonate across the country. Comedies like \u201cGhosts\u201d and \u201cGeorgie &amp; Mandy\u2019s First Marriage\u201d are two of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/most-popular-tv-shows-2024-25-squid-game-adolescence-1236412566\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/most-popular-tv-shows-2024-25-squid-game-adolescence-1236412566\/\">most-watched comedies out there<\/a>, while drama \u201cTracker\u201d is one of the most-watched shows period. The \u201cYellowstone\u201d prequel \u201c1944\u201d is in the works (following \u201c1883\u201d and \u201c1923\u201d), as well as a new spinoff of \u201cYellowstone\u201d starring Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly as Rip and Beth and a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"1236464061\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/tulsa-king-spinoff-nola-king-samuel-l-jackson-paramount-1236464061\/\">spinoff of \u201cTulsa King\u201d starring Samuel L. Jackson<\/a>. Star Trek also has business at the streamer, with the shows \u201cStrange New Worlds\u201d and the forthcoming \u201cStarfleet Academy.\u201d \u201cStrange New Worlds\u201d is currently airing its third season and has been <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"1236429020\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-renewed-final-season-5-1236429020\/\">renewed through a fifth and final season<\/a>. \u201cStarfleet Academy\u201d has been <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"1236183322\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/star-trek-starfleet-academy-renewed-season-2-tatiana-maslany-guest-star-season-1-1236183322\/\">renewed through Season 2.<\/a> Whether or not the Star Trek TV universe will continue in its current iteration beyond these two shows remains to be seen. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>Nickelodeon<\/strong><br \/>This unit looks pretty similar to the film studio when it comes to multi-quadrant offerings, including \u201cSpongebob SquarePants\u201d and the animated \u201cAvatar\u201d content.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>Showtime<\/strong><br \/>Once a hotbed of prestige drama, Showtime is down to (well-liked) offshoots of \u201cDexter,\u201d a prequel (\u201cDexter: Original Sin\u201d) and a sequel (\u201cDexter: Resurrection\u201d). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>Comedy Central<\/strong><br \/>\u201cSouth Park,\u201d so valuable that Paramount Global trudged through a reported swamp of contention and hostility to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-id=\"1236468038\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/south-park-renewed-paramount-plus-trey-parker-matt-stone-1236468038\/\">secure another deal with its creators<\/a>, rules the roost.
