PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — There was a very special birthday party held in the city today, but it wasn’t for a person.<\/p>\n

It’s the 19th birthday of Franklin Square, marking the years since it was taken over by Historic Philadelphia Incorporated.<\/p>\n

They celebrated the occasion with fun crafts, historic retellings, and an appearance from Ben Franklin.<\/p>\n

“We’re always making improvements to the square. We’re here to really serve the community and provide this phenomenal public green space,” said Lesly Attarian, Vice President of Development with Historic Philadelphia Incorporated.<\/p>\n
