A section of State Route 51 will be narrowed to two northbound lanes for seven weeks starting Monday morning, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.<\/p>\n
The lane restrictions will remain in place 24\/7 between Highland Avenue and Camelback Road. Crews will replace about 700 feet of pavement that was damaged by repairs to the freeway\u2019s drainage system.<\/p>\n

ADOT said drivers should expect bigger delays than usual during morning and evening rush hours and consider using Interstate 17 to head north.<\/p>\n
ADOT said the two right lanes will close for about a month, then the left two lanes will close for roughly two to three weeks.<\/p>\n
Crews will remove part of the concrete pavement and then repair the damaged stormwater pipe. Once that\u2019s done, new concrete will be poured in to replace the old, uneven surface.<\/p>\n
ADOT said the roadwork is part of the larger project that started in March<\/a> to improve the 9.5-mile stretch between Interstate 10 and Shea Boulevard.
