NBA Europe is scheduled to have its inaugural season in 2027\/28.<\/p>\n<p>The NBA Board of Governors <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/06\/nba-extremely-encouraged-by-bids-for-european-franchises.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">will soon determine<\/a> which bidders receive franchises in NBA Europe. BC Roma SPQR was recently co-founded by former Mavericks GM <strong>Donnie Nelson<\/strong> along with Lakers superstar <strong>Luka Doncic<\/strong>. Casey was an assistant coach in Dallas from 2008-11 during Nelson\u2019s stint in Dallas\u2019 front office.<\/p>\n<p>The BC Roma SPQR club will participate in the EuroCup basketball season, which begins in late September. The club is also weighing European candidates for its debut Serie A season, Stein adds.<\/p>\n<p>Casey, 69, underwent a rebuilding project with Detroit after coaching Toronto from 2011-18.
