For context, over a month has now passed since Garmin issued an update to these smartwatches in any form. As we discussed at the time, System Software 22.06 represented a rather short-lived beta testing phase where Garmin only offered two builds to testers.

Now, the company has moved on to v23.xx builds starting with Beta Version 23.05. While Garmin only introduced 15 changes during its v22.xx testing, Beta Version 23.05 brings a dozen improvements to the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7 and other associated smartwatches itself. Of those, 9 are bug fixes, including one that is said to resolve a crash that could occur on the Climb Pro data page.

Meanwhile, Beta Version 23.05 also updates Garmin’s Recent Stress Widget to match the Fenix 8’s and Breath Variation page with a line graph. On top of that, Garmin’s first v23.xx update adds a new Pool Swim activity tip that will appear during a rest set. The full changelog between System Software 22.06 and Beta Version 23.05 is as follows:

Added a new tip to display during a rest set in a Pool Swim activity.

Fixed a possible crash on the climb pro data page.

Fixed an issue where course distance data would sometimes incorrectly be set to nautical miles.

Fixed an issue with golf club tracking

Fixed an issue with where selecting the Last Ride data would incorrectly show the Last Run page.

Fixed incorrect data being displayed on the laps review page in the Pool Swim activity.

Fixed incorrect distance data from sometimes being displayed when navigating a course.

Fixed Navigation prompts from sounding when all audio prompts are disabled.

Fixed the displayed weight on Strength edit set page to match other Strength-related page.

Fixed Wind Direction Changing When Connecting to a LRF (Tactix Only.)

Updated the breath variation page to use a line graph.

Updated the Recent Stress Widget to now match the appearance of Fenix 8

Alex Alderson – Senior Tech Writer – 12829 articles published on Notebookcheck since 2018

Prior to writing and translating for Notebookcheck, I worked for various companies including Apple and Neowin.
