We just saw Star Fox last month, which was another version of Star Fox 64. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will also be receiving a remake later this year.

In this week’s issue of Famitsu, Miyamoto pushed back on the idea that there are too many remakes. For one thing, he pointed to the fact that it gives access to titles that were released several years ago. Miyamoto also mentioned that bringing back games “leads to future developments”.

Miyamoto shared the following with Famitsu:

“Some people might say there are a lot of remakes, but after five years, a lot of people have outgrown games and stop playing them. Young people today don’t have the opportunity to play games from 10 years ago, so remaking them to be more playable and releasing them again is a good way to meet the demand. Letting people know the original games also leads to future developments, so we’ve been actively pursuing that recently.”

Did you pick up Star Fox on Nintendo Switch 2 yet? Also, are you planning on picking up Zelda: Ocarina of Time? Let us know in the comments.

Outside of the above, Miyamoto touched on Nintendo’s game lineup in general and confirmed this year’s Star Fox and Yoshi games came about because of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
