The Plexus Summer Wellness Tour is traveling across the United States, with two \u201cwellness wagons\u201d visiting more than 100 cities and towns before concluding in Texas.<\/p>\n
About the tour<\/p>\n
The tour launched following a company convention in Columbus, Ohio. One wagon headed west and one headed east, with stops planned at community events along the route.<\/p>\n
Stuart MacMillan, Chief Global Development Officer for Plexus, said the tour is designed to bring people together around the company\u2019s core focus on gut health.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe company is really about gut health and wellness, but it\u2019s also about community,\u201d MacMillan said. \u201cWhat we\u2019re trying to do is to have these little events with the wellness wagon, give people an opportunity to hang out together, enjoy each other\u2019s company, understand how important gut health is to them.\u201d<\/p>\n
About Plexus<\/p>\n
Plexus is an 18-year-old company focused on the gut health space. MacMillan said he joined the company three to four months ago after learning about its science and growth plans.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the last couple of years, 60% of the companies that introduce new products point to gut health,\u201d MacMillan said. \u201cWe\u2019re already in the space and we just really need to put the pedal to the metal and make sure that our message gets out.\u201d<\/p>\n
MacMillan said the company\u2019s primary focus over the next 18 months will remain on the gut-brain axis.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhysicians have said for years that if you have a healthy gut, that\u2019s the center to being healthy overall,\u201d MacMillan said.<\/p>\n
The local stop is scheduled for Tanglewood Park tonight from 6 to 8 p.m., where attendees can sample products.<\/p>\n
