{"id":952961,"date":"2026-07-23T00:54:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T00:54:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/952961\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T00:54:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T00:54:19","slug":"gas-line-hit-outside-uptown-dallas-apartment-complex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/952961\/","title":{"rendered":"Gas line hit outside Uptown Dallas apartment complex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No injuries were reported Wednesday after a construction company hit a gas line outside an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/uptown-dallas\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Uptown<\/a> apartment complex, according to a spokesman for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/fire\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas fire<\/a> department.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The leak was repaired between 5 and 5:30 p.m., and residents were allowed to return to the MAA Meridian Apartments, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said. Fire crews cleared the scene by 5:46 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Evans of Dallas Fire-Rescue said crews were dispatched about 1:20\u00a0p.m. over reports of a gas leak outside the MAA Meridian Apartments. A fire department call log showed nearly 20 units responded to the four-story building, located at 2427 Allen St.<\/p>\n<p>According to Atmos Energy, a construction company working near the complex damaged a 1-1\/4-inch commercial gas line.<\/p>\n<p>Records reviewed by\u00a0The Dallas Morning News show\u00a0Atmos notified Texas811, the agency that coordinates the location of underground utilities, just before 3\u00a0p.m. that gas was blowing at the site, and an emergency crew was on scene to address the leak.<\/p>\n<p>The records don&#8217;t indicate how the line was struck.<\/p>\n<p>While Evans said crews did not detect any gas inside the building, they evacuated its more than 180 apartments &#8220;out of an abundance of caution.&#8221; Residents have been provided temporary housing until the leak has been fixed, he said. <\/p>\n<p>As of 5\u00a0p.m., Atmos said technicians were still working to shut off natural gas service in the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Resident Emma\u00a0Putti was working from home when her roommate began pounding on her bedroom door with an urgent warning: Firefighters were outside.
