But by 7:30 p.m., the fire had significantly slowed, the agency said. Some evacuation orders and warnings were lifted as well by 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters will continue to defend structures in the San Diego Country Estates area while working to gain containment overnight, Cal Fire wrote on X. Two night-flying helicopters have been assigned to assist with gaining containment over night. Fire crews plan to continue containment over the next few days as well, Cal Fire said.<\/p>\n<p>One ADU was damaged in the fire, Cal Fire said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFirefighters are battling a brush fire burning at a critical rate in Ramona on Wednesday afternoon which prompted evacuation orders, warnings and is threatening structures. Structures on Gem Lane and the San Diego Country Estates, a nearby community in an unincorporated area of Ramona, were being impacted.<\/p>\n<p>An evacuation order (red) means everyone in those areas should leave immediately while those in the evacuation warning (yellow) should be prepared to evacuated if conditions change.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/evacuation-zones.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>A Temporary Evacuation Point was held at the Ramona High School at 1401 Hanson Lane. Those who needed a large animal evacuation point were advised to go to 421 Aqua Lane at the Ramona Rodeo.<\/p>\n<p>The American Red Cross has opened an overnight shelter for evacuees at Olive Peirce Middle School, located at 1521 Hanson Lane. Small animals are welcome at the shelter and animal care partners will be on-site to assist with caring for small animals.<\/p>\n<p>Those in the Ramona area should stay aware of increased law enforcement, the San Diego County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said. <\/p>\n<p>Smoke advisory<\/p>\n<p>An active smoke advisory was issued due to the fire for all of East County, affecting those around the San Diego Country Estates, according to the San Diego County Air Pollution District.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA brush fire broke out in Ramona on Wednesday afternoon, prompting evacuation warnings and orders. Black smoke and brush could be seen burning at the top of a hill not far from homes at Ramona Country Estates.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day on Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/news\/local\/brush-fire-in-rainbow-forces-evacuations\/4051972\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a brush fire broke out in Rainbow<\/a>, which sits in the far northern stretches of the county. That fire also prompted evacuation orders and warnings.
