\n\tBMI celebrated the songwriters and publishers behind 25 of its most-performing Christian music songs over the past year, during a celebration held at BMI\u2019s Nashville office on Wednesday (July 22).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMade For More,\u201d written by Jessie Early, Jonathan Smith and Blake Wiggins, was named BMI\u2019s Christian song of the year. The hit, recorded by Josh Baldwin, was Baldwin\u2019s first No. 1 on Billboard\u2019s Christian AC Airplay<\/a> chart.<\/p>\n

\n\tSteven Furtick was named BMI Christian songwriter of the year, and wrote three of the 25 most-performed songs, including \u201cAnother One,\u201d \u201cGoodbye Yesterday,\u201d and \u201cLion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCapitol CMG Publishing took home publisher of the year, representing 19 of the 25 most-performed songs of the year, including \u201cMade For More,\u201d as well as \u201cAltar,\u201d \u201cGrave Robber,\u201d \u201cIf I Got Jesus,\u201d \u201cMy God Can,\u201d \u201cSomebody Prayed,\u201d \u201cTake You At Your Word,\u201d \u201cThe Truth\u201d and \u201cWho Else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe event was led by BMI\u2019s assistant vp of creative, Nashville\u00a0Leslie Roberts<\/strong>; executive vp, chief revenue and creative officer,\u00a0Mike Steinberg<\/strong>; and\u00a0BMI\u2019s CEO\u00a0Mike O\u2019Neill<\/strong>. The 2026 BMI Christian Awards were sponsored by Studio Bank.<\/p>\n

\n\t2018 BMI Compass Award recipient Elwyn Raymer opened the evening with a prayer, while performances included Belle Frantz performing \u201cAmazing Grace.\u201d Steven Curtis Chapman welcomed Drew Parker to the stage for a performance of \u201cBlame Jesus,\u201d while Jamie MacDonald closed the evening with a rendition of \u201cLeft It In The River.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOther songs celebrated during the evening included \u201cAltar,\u201d written by\u00a0Forrest Frank,\u00a0Lasanna \u201cAce\u201d Harris,\u00a0Steve Rice\u00a0and\u00a0Willie Scott Jr.; \u201cNothin\u2019 Sweeter,\u201d written by\u00a0TobyMac\u00a0and\u00a0Jordan Mohilowski; \u201cRunning Back To You,\u201d written by\u00a0Seph Schlueter; \u201cThank you Jesus for the Blood,\u201d written by\u00a0Charity Gayle\u00a0alongside\u00a0Steven Musso; and \u201cUnsung Hero,\u201d written by\u00a0Luke Smallbone. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe evening also celebrated 18 first-time award winners, including Leanna Crawford,\u00a0Frankie Holleman,\u00a0Zachary Kale,\u00a0Patrick Mayberry,\u00a0Steven Musso\u00a0and\u00a0Megan Woods.<\/p>\n
