{"id":955507,"date":"2026-07-24T04:57:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T04:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/955507\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T04:57:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T04:57:15","slug":"san-antonio-actor-steve-dominguez-brings-local-boxing-tale-to-screen-with-heart-of-glory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/955507\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio actor Steve Dominguez brings local boxing tale to screen with \u2018Heart of Glory\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 San Antonio actor Steve Dominguez is bringing an Alamo City boxing story to the screen with \u201cHeart of Glory,\u201d an indie drama debuting as part of the San Antonio Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Dominguez plays Jimmy \u201cThe Kid\u201d Sanchez in the film, which was shot around San Antonio and features some of the city\u2019s recognizable landmarks. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cI didn\u2019t want to look like an actor playing a boxer, I wanted to look like a legit boxer in a boxing film,\u201d said Dominguez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">He said he drew inspiration during filming from local boxing figures, including \u201c210 Bam\u201d and Mario Barrios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cWe got permission and we filmed at all the major landmarks, they got me shadowboxing at The Alamo raising my hands up \u2014 that was such a classic scene. I loved that scene,\u201d said Dominguez. \u201cRunning on the River Walk, Arneson Theatre, downtown, in front of the Alamodome \u2014 just trying to capture as much of San Antonio as we can in this film, and I wanted to make that a point. Because I love my city, this is my city, born and raised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cHeart of Glory\u201d was directed by the late Jorge L\u00f3pez Ram\u00edrez, who was honored during the film\u2019s debut.
