{"id":956581,"date":"2026-07-24T16:56:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T16:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/956581\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T16:56:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T16:56:23","slug":"maple-grove-hospital-nurses-secure-higher-pay-better-benefits-ahead-of-sanford-health-acquisition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/956581\/","title":{"rendered":"Maple Grove Hospital nurses secure higher pay, better benefits ahead of Sanford Health acquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearly 600 Maple Grove Hospital nurses have reached an agreement for higher pay, improved retirement benefits, health care protections and new workplace safeguards as the hospital gets ready for an acquisition by Sanford Health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new three-year union contract will help maintain staffing and patient care during the transition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement follows a letter of understanding reached earlier this summer that protects key workplace rights during the proposed acquisition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PREVIOUS: <a href=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/strike-authorization-vote-underway-for-nurses-at-maple-grove-hospital\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/strike-authorization-vote-underway-for-nurses-at-maple-grove-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Maple Grove nurses vote to authorize strike<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minnesota Nurses Association said the contract will use the same pay formula used by North Memorial Robbinsdale Hospital nurses beginning in 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also includes double-time pay after more than 13 hours worked in a row and a 401(k) match of up to 6%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAfter more than 18 months of learning and standing together, we\u2019re proud to have secured our first union contract. As Maple Grove Hospital prepares to be acquired, having a strong contract in place gives nurses the stability and protections we need to continue advocating for our patients and our profession,\u201d said Margaret Sampson, RN. \u201cThis contract is an important first step, but our work isn\u2019t finished.
