The second weekend outlook for Odyssey is between $61M-$74M, but it\u2019s clear from the weekday grosses, this Matt Damon movie has momentum. Nolan\u2019s biggest second weekend at the domestic box office belongs to Dark Knight ($75.1M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSpecialty titles are serving as counter programming this weekend with the Broadway live feature capture of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/hadestown\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hadestown\" data-tag=\"hadestown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hadestown<\/a><\/strong> from Bleecker Street\u2019s event cinema division Crosswalk and LD Entertainment, making <strong>$1.5M<\/strong> in previews yesterday. Very good. Opening range for the event pic is $8M-$10M. The movie is on track to have the second highest opening weekend for a Broadway capture behind only Disney\u2019s\u00a0Hamilton ($10.1M), which was released following its Disney+ debut during Covid on Sept. 5 last year. Critics are 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with audiences at 99%. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/MCDMOCI_IF004.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"434\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIFC\u2019s Potsy Ponciroli\u2019s R-rated gritty dialogue-less crime noir, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/motor-city\/\" id=\"auto-tag_motor-city\" data-tag=\"motor-city\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Motor City<\/a>,<\/strong> revved up with<strong> $475K<\/strong> in overall previews which includes Thursday night screenings and Monday mystery screenings. That\u2019s a great number for IFC, right there in between the previews for Late Night With the Devil ($317K previews, $2.8M opening) and Clown in a Cornfield ($600K previews, $3.6M opening). The hope is for walk-up business on this Alan Ritchson, Shailene Woodley and Ben Foster pic, which was great last night at 65%. Critics are at 65% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNeon\u2019s Nicolas Winding Refn directed fashionista genre kung-fu noir <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/her-private-hell\/\" id=\"auto-tag_her-private-hell\" data-tag=\"her-private-hell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Her Private Hell<\/a> <\/strong>starring Sophie Thatcher and 2x Beef nominee Charles Melton grossed <strong>$125K<\/strong> in previews. Refn is in L.A. all weekend doing Q&amp;As for the film, as well as following a 10PM show tonight at the American Cinematheque for the 15th anniversary of Drive. There was an L.A. premiere on Tuesday night with Thatcher, Melton and Havana Rose Liu. Following the movie\u2019s out-of-competition premiere in Cannes, Refn took the movie on the road for advance screenings in LA, NYC and Chicago. It\u2019s the third time he\u2019s teamed with Neon\u2019s Tom Quinn, who handled Refn\u2019s Only God Forgives starring Ryan Gosling at Radius, as well as the Pusher movies at Magnolia. Critical score on Her Private Hell is 45% rotten.
