{"id":956783,"date":"2026-07-24T19:05:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T19:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/956783\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T19:05:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T19:05:14","slug":"what-to-know-about-phoenix-area-freeway-closures-planned-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/956783\/","title":{"rendered":"What to know about Phoenix-area freeway closures planned this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 If you\u2019re hitting the freeway this weekend, expect delays. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The Arizona Department of Transportation has scheduled several closures and lane restrictions across the Valley from Friday night, July 24, through early Monday morning, July 27.<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>Southbound Loop 101 Price <\/b>will be fully closed between Loop 202 and Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">According to ADOT, on-ramps at Thomas, McDowell and McKellips roads will close at 8 p.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Drivers should use southbound Scottsdale Road or Alma School Road as alternate routes. Heavy delays are expected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>Northbound State Route 51 <\/b>will narrow to two lanes between Northern Avenue and Shea Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Drivers should use northbound I-17 as an alternate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>Eastbound Loop 303<\/b> will close between 43rd Avenue and Interstate 17 in north Phoenix from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Use 43rd Avenue north to Dove Valley Road east to reach I-17.<\/p>\n<p>East Valley<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\"><b>Eastbound Loop 202 Santan<\/b> will close between Gilbert Road and Williams Field Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Drivers can use northbound Gilbert Road to eastbound Williams Field Road to get around the closure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The westbound I-10 ramp to eastbound Loop 202 will close from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>South of the Valley<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As part of ongoing asphalt paving work, <b>State Route 347<\/b> will see nightly lane restrictions in both directions between I-10 and Riggs Road from Friday, July 24, through Monday, July 27.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Southbound lanes will narrow to one lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Northbound lanes will narrow to one lane from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Intermittent intersection restrictions will also be in place at Old Maricopa Road during daytime and nighttime hours beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, through noon on Sunday, July 26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/page\/send-us-your-feedback\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Please click here to report it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Do you have a photo or video of a breaking news story?
