{"id":957405,"date":"2026-07-25T01:57:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T01:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/957405\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T01:57:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T01:57:10","slug":"west-15th-st-bridge-receives-state-funding-for-repairs-heights-river-oaks-montrose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/957405\/","title":{"rendered":"West 15th St. bridge receives state funding for repairs | Heights &#8211; River Oaks &#8211; Montrose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Houston City Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HoustonTelevision\/videos\/1514528056458285\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approved an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation<\/a> on July 21 to move forward with improvements to the West 15th St. bridge located across a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hcfcd.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harris County Flood Control District<\/a> ditch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What this means<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Located in District C, the project will replace or rehabilitate the bridge on West 15th St. between Beall St. and Dian St., as part of TxDOT\u2019s Off-System Bridge Program, which funds improvements to bridges that are not part of the state highway system.<\/p>\n<p>The project is estimated to cost about $726,000, <a href=\"https:\/\/houstontx.primegov.com\/viewer\/preview?id=0&amp;type=8&amp;uid=5bf4b164-2abd-4eeb-9113-e6ecf765b07e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">per the agenda item<\/a>. The city will use a state-approved equivalent match waiver, allowing bridge improvements at two other locations at Reo St. and Packard St., to satisfy the local match requirement.
